    Alan Moore's lost crossover epic

I recently stumbled across this letter by Alan Moore to DC Comics regarding a giant crossover he had ideas for called Twilight of the Superheroes. Many of the elements of the story seem similar to some series that DC released after passing on the idea. Read it and judge for yourself!

    Jack Kirby mini-movie

Check out this 3 minute mini-documentary on the work of Jack "the King" Kirby. The guy speaking is Mark Evanier, who worked for Kirby for many years before going on to write a million different things I love, incuding Groo the Wanderer with co-creator Sergio Aragones. You get to hear Jack's philosophy on storytelling from someone who knew him well. Enjoy.

    gal eats world

Tom Spurgeon just linked to this hilarious mashup of Jack Chick and Jack Kirby called Galactus is coming. It takes the goofiness of the Fantastic Four and mixes it with the fear-induced piety of the ultra-conservative Chick Tracts. Funny stuff!

    xenografting in comics

I just stumbled across a cool little blog called polite dissent, a site dedicated to "comics, medicine, politics & fun". It's a kooky mix of stuff by a doctor who loves comics. In this post the good doc talks about how xenografting, a practice that was once just the stuff of comic books is becoming a reality!

2 great tastes that taste great together!

If you know me well, you know that two of my favorite passtimes are reading comic books and picking locks. In fact, I had plans to do a comic book guide to picking locks, but it looks like the guys at Locksport International beat me to the punch!
